This itinerary is ideal for travelers based in Nanyuki who want to experience one of northern Kenya’s most scenic hikes in a single day. The drive from Nanyuki to the base of Mount Ololokwe takes approximately 2.5–3 hours via Isiolo and Archer’s Post, making an early departure essential.

Itinerary

5:00 AM – Depart Nanyuki

  • Meet your guide and driver.
  • Depart via the Nanyuki–Isiolo Highway.
  • Enjoy scenic views of Mount Kenya, Laikipia ranches, and the northern frontier landscapes.

6:30 AM – Stop in Isiolo

  • Short refreshment and restroom break.
  • Continue towards Archer’s Post.

7:30 AM – Arrive at Archer’s Post

  • Meet the local Samburu guide (if not already arranged).
  • Continue to Sabache Camp at the foot of Mount Ololokwe.

8:00 AM – Arrive at Sabache Camp

8:30 AM – Start the Hike
